The Hairston School of Dance official open date is September 5th, 2023.

The school year spans from September 5th, 2023, to May 19th, 2024, with additional offerings of summer classes, camps, and intensives.

Registration for classes will close on April 1st, 2024, exclusively for students participating in the end-of-year showcase. Students registering after April 1st are not guaranteed performance opportunities in the end-of-year showcase.

At the Hairston School of Dance, every student will receive a comprehensive handbook that outlines the dress code requirements and footwear needs. While there is no specific style of leotard required, different levels are assigned specific colors.

There is a dedicated dressing room for female students, along with two bathrooms available for male students.

All Children’s Classes are equipped with a teacher assistant who can provide support if a child requires assistance in the bathroom. However, it is important to note that our teacher assistants do not accompany children inside the bathroom. If your student needs additional support, please inform us.

To comply with our dress code, we ask that all students to neatly secure their hair away from their face. We recommend hairstyles such as a bun, twist, or any style that ensures the hair is kept close to the head.
Certainly! We offer various boys-only classes at the Hairston School of Dance. These classes serve as an excellent introduction to dance, emphasizing coordination, jumps, and fast footwork. Engaging in dance can enhance strength, focus, discipline, and athleticism.

Additional performance opportunities are available throughout the year, beyond the end-of-year showcase. We have two scheduled performances: The Nutcracker and an early Spring Performance. Auditions will be held for all roles, although every student will receive a role. Please note that there is an extra fee for each performance role and costume. It is important to mention that costumes are the property of the Hairston School of Dance.
